Sarral is located in the heart of the Conca de Barberà, a region with deep-rooted winemaking traditions.
The winery, built in 1914 under the auspices of the Commonwealth of Catalonia, was designed by the renowned architect Pere Domènech i Roure. It is the result of the collective efforts of the local farmers to erect a rational structure of great architectural value, pioneering in its incorporation of technical, construction, and winemaking advancements in the agrarian industry. Angel Guimerà christened it as one of the “Cathedrals of Wine” due to its magnificence.
The more than 1,000 hectares of vineyards, planted at altitudes ranging from 350 to nearly 700 meters in the northern part of the Conca de Barberà wine region, are among the highest in the Cava area. Here, sustainable and rational viticulture is practiced, with each grape variety planted where it achieves the best balance and fully develops its qualities.
