Wine production at Castell de Peralada has been documented since the Middle Ages, as evidenced by various documents and parchments from that time preserved in the library. When Miguel Mateu purchased this monumental complex in 1923, one of his main goals was to revitalize this winemaking tradition, a tradition that is more alive today than ever and has incorporated the most modern technology to craft wines that fully capture the nuances of the soils and vineyards of the Empordà.
