Located in the old center of Artés, the Celler Cooperatiu d’Artés was founded in 1908 and represents an important industry in the Bages region: winemaking. There are two facts that identify and determine it:
- In 1949, it became the first cooperative in Spain to make cava (after 9 years of testing and thanks to the technicians of the Diputació de Barcelona).
- In 1955, he protected and saved the Picapoll white grape variety by bottling it in 3/4 l instead of making it mixed with other varieties and in bulk, as was done until then.
They currently make wines within the DO Pla de Bages and the DO Cava, they have Agrobotiga and Espai Artium (tasting and wine tourism).
